Behavior

Goldfish are social, intelligent fish that interact with their environment and owners. They are cold-water fish that should not be kept with tropical species. They produce a lot of waste and need excellent filtration.

Reproduction

Goldfish spawn in spring when water warms. Males chase females, who release thousands of sticky eggs on plants. Eggs hatch in 4-7 days depending on temperature.
